UPGRADES: Feeling cheated...

Speaking to any other department really doesn' help much, from online support suggesting I drive to a few vodacom stores to check stock, to Retentions telling me to go and search Telkoms website to find a deal and bring it to her....

Long story short, I do an upgrade online on 28 Dec 2024 to a Samsung Galaxy S24+ for around R900 which is my budget for this specific line, one I've had since 2001 when I was a Vodacom employee, and in my private capacity since 2011.

Vodacom Online ste tells me there's a 3 week waiting period, which is around now, and I'm ok with this. I call online support last week and again today to follow up, am told sorry, you've been on back order for too long, your upgrade will be cancelled because no more S24+ handsets will be issued\end of life\some other dramatic term .

I call upgrades, they say its end of life\turning off life support, only thing i can offer is a S24 Ultra at around 1100 a month, slightly out of budget, but now it speaks to principle. I mention that Telkom had a similar deal as what I upgraded with, and I want the S24+ or now the ultra (because that is all they have left, conveniently), but within the budget of the actual upgrade I've already done...

Lady says go onto telkom's site, bring us the proof and we'll meet the deal...problem is, that was more than 3 weeks ago, during festive season...and guess what, they're OBVIOUSLY not running the special any longer...

So now I'm caught between feeling cheated as my choices are either upgrading and paying 200 more, (not much, but its the principle), or canceling my contract after 23 years, purely based on principle.

What do you suggest i do? My mobile number is supp****. I've been your customer for many years, no unpaid bills, no money owing, no issues, just feeling a bit *****ed over and wondering if this is what Vodacom has now become...

Guessing I shouldn't hold my breath for a call back...I have answered every telemarketing call thinking it was you, so at least I have now got 4 funeral policies AND medical cover for my cat (I don't even have a cat) but what I didn't get is a call from you...
