Upgraded with phone of lesser value than the one owned

My husband bought me a Redmi Note 11 Pro phone on contract at Vodacom Centurion Mall in 2022. On the13 August 2023, the phone started losing network and I booked it in for repairs at Vodacom Centurion Mall. Vodacom said the phone experienced out-of-the-box failure and they would replace it as it was still within the warranty period. I then requested them to order me the same phone I had and was advised that Xioami no longer makes them. They would order me a later version. I was then called by the store to collect the order and I collected it on the 9th September 2023. My husband took the phone back on 14 September 2023, 5 days after collection as we realized that I was issued a Redmi Note 12 instead of Redmi Note 12 Pro which was of a lesser value than the one I owed. We noticed this when I couldn't use certain features on the phone and that the phone battery was dying within two days of charging even though I had not yet loaded my information. Mr Francoise who was the manager on duty refused to accept the phone and advised that 7 days had passed after the phone was collected. We showed him receipts to prove that he was dishonest, and he ignored us. He still refused to assist us. My husband left the phone at Vodacom stating that he can not continue paying for a R7500 phone while I owned a R5000 phone. This is now the second month he's paying for something we don't have.

Good day,

Does this response mean that my husband will continue paying for a R7500 device while I will be reimbursed with a R5000 device? According to your Vodasure policy insurance document under accidental damage cover heading item no. 2 it states that "why is mine now being replaced with device that costs R2500 less than the device mu husband signed a contract for and that is still paying for?

My understanding for same or similar according to vodasure insurance policy includes the price value of the device.
Your assistance will be highly appreciated.

Item 2 of Accidental Damage Cover states that, " If your asset is beyond economic repair as determined by an authorized repair centre, we will replace with the same or similar, or an insurance replacement device of the same type. We will not replace, with more extensive or expensive model than asset insured."

Unfortunately, even If I were to collect the phone I would have still taken it back due to the battery issue it had that helped me identify that the phone issued was not a Redmi Note 12 pro. As i had initially stated the phone's battery would die after two days of charging even though I had not yet transferred my information from the cloud.
