upgrade without consent

about a month ago i called Vodacom to cancel my and my wifes contract coz i do not need it for the next year or so and figured when i do, i will take it out again.

on Tuesday, at about 6pm while driving home from work, my wife gets a msg of the following:

Your Promotional My Gig 5 - 24 Month Hybrid has been activated and valid until 2021-04-30 19:57:33. To view balances, buy bundles & save dial *135# or visit vodacom.mobi.

hmmm, thats strange, maybe its free, (whats the chances) when i eventually get home. i tried to call to find out, what is the case, ofcause, i have reached them outside office hours

now im annoyed and naturally a stressed person so i think about it that night because after doing some research, its under R300 for 5gigs which i find way over priced.

i called today, the consultant asked, did i not approve the upgrade on the 30th? no, i did not!

Amazed that with so many security verifications, one can make sure a mistake, (or is it a mistake)

tried to avoid this, but after an hour and over being passed to over 6 people, this was the only way to resolve this matter

please cancel this so called upgrade and please confirm both of my other contracts are set for cancellation.
