Upgrade STILL not finalised

22/9/16 Initiated upgrade via My Vodacom app.

22/9 Received email saying someone would contact me within twenty four hours to process upgrade.

26/9 Nondiwe Maseko of upgrades called me at 09h18. I asked that she ensure the correctly-sized SIM card be sent with the handset as they had sent the wrong one with my lprevious upgrade. She assured me that it would and that I would receive everything within '....two to five working days'.

28/9 Called them at around 16h00. Nondiwe told me that my upgrade had not been ordered and that it would take a further '....two to five working days' to receive my new handset and SIM card. I told her that I wasn't happy with this and that a supervisor should call me back. Brendan called at 16h16 and assured me that I would receive everything by Friday 30/9 afternoon.

30/9 Parcel received with the wrong sized SIM card. Called them at 11h32. Didn't note agent's name. Was assured that the correct SIM card would be delivered to me on Monday 3/10.

3/10 No SIM card receieved. Called them at 13h45. Didn't note agent's name. Was put on silent hold for around twelve minutes. Ran out of patience and ended the call. About ten minutes later a supervisor called Emmanuel called me, apologised profusely and suggested that I go to my nearest Vodacom outlet and buy a SIM card for which they would credit me. Pointed out that this was not feasible as I work from 07h00 to 17h00 and that I preferred the convenience of upgrading online - hence my initiating the upgrade via the My Vodacom app. He then said he would send another SIM card and credit my account with two hundred and fifty megabytes of data to compensate me.

4/10 Noted that data was credited. Still no SIM card. Called them at 11h28 ansd spoke to Mary Ndlovu. Asked for a tracking number. The only one she could give me was for the original consignment. She said that SIM cards were not delivered on their own and also suggested I visit my nearest Vodacom outlet. AAAAAARGH! Asked her to have Emmanuel call me. She said she would ask him via email to do so straight away. He hasn't called yet.

Vodacom, it's now nearly two weeks since I initiated the upgrade. I would love to experience the benefits of the new handset before it becomes obsolete. Don't send me to my nearest Vodacom outlet, I work all day and even if I could go I don't want to. What is the point of being able to transact online if I still have to traipse to a shopping centre - a place no sane male wants to visit.

If you can't have RAM deliver the correct SIM card (Although this has already been promised twice) then here's an idea, why not have a rep or manager from my nearest Vodacom outlet deliver it to me at work? Now THAT would be service! We can only dream of such things unfortunately.

SORT OUT MY UPGRADE!

Bob Thorne - Vodacom customer of twenty-one years, twenty-two looking very unlikely at the moment.

Since my last communication with Emmanuel on 4/10:

5/10 12h31. Thembi Mbulawa called from ********** re FB post and said she would chase online department. Have heard nothing since.

5/10 14h10. Josie called me from ********** 770. Said she has messaged the relevant dept and CCd senior mamagement and would keep me posted. Have heard nothing from her since.

6/10 03h39. Called upgrades on ********** and spoke to Tatello. Was put on hold several times and was once again told to go to the nearest Vodacom store. Was also told that SIM cards are not sent out on thier own. During the last seession that I was on hold I eventually hung up after being on the phone for 33' 27".

6/10 10h04 & 10h05. Had two missed calls from ********** 7 during the above conversation. The caller in each case did not bother to leave a voice message.

6/10 10h14 Had a missed call from ********** during the above conversation. No message was left.

6/10 11h18. Called online upgrades on ********** 922. Was eventaully told that this was not their department and they would have the right people call me. Initially spoke to Amra and then McAllister Brijlaal. 11' 18" call.

6/10 11h34 Received a call from ********** 8. Natasha Masego said she would look into it an call back.

6/10 11h40 Received a call from ********** . Natasha Masego asked for my delivery address and said she would call me back within thirty minutes. Let's see how that goes, she has fifteen minutes left.

6/10

I was contacted yesterday (6/10) by Lubabalo of Vodacom's social media department at 13h28 from the number ********** . He said to leave it all to him and that I would have my SIM today. Guess what, no SIM and nothing more on Facebook since posting four hours ago that he had requested an urgent update and my two subsequent posts.

Their advertising for online upgrades say "Free next day delivery." Ja sure, give or take seventeen days if you are optimistic.
