Upgrade performed without consent.

Good Morning I would like to report a ********** practice experienced by the Vodacom upgrade consultants and further the unwillingness of Vodacom to rectify this after numerous calls. The incident in question is around the contact due for upgrade of my Father in laws contract which was due for an upgrade. In October a Vodacom telesales consultant phoned my Father in law to inform him his contact was due for an upgrade he clearly stated that he want his children to take him to a store for a new phone and upgrade and di not give consent to change the contact. A few day later the 19th of October he was informed his quotation (***) had been processed with no OTP. My Father in law is quite old and did not think much about the message until he received a larger bill at the end of November and he contacted my wife, we were away and asked him to keep all SMS correspondence. On the first attempt of calling Vodacom we were informed that this was ***** and we were to report it at a police station then drive all the way from Pretoria to Sandton the store where the upgrade had occurred and report it to the store manager. Due to Covid-19 this was an irresponsible request and the telephone number provided in our request for the store did not exist. On the second attempt we were told a long story about a migration and not and upgrade and this could be reversed, enquiry number *** and my father in law could go in store once he received an SMS indicating the migration reversal. This never happened we received an SMS asking if we enjoyed the service experienced, which obviously we did not as there was no service provided. Further calls have also not proved to be successful. This is a serious failure of corporate governance and no responsibility or accountability for either an honest mistake that was made or someone trying to earn commission *********ly. Can someone at Vodacom lease investigate and sort this mess out the upgrade date had now moved to 2023 and we would just like the contact to be reinstated as it was at the before the “migration” in October.
