Upgrade Nightmare

Earlier in March, I called Vodacom to cancel my contract - since my data is so ridiculously expensive.

I spoke to Nkululeko, who instead convinced me to upgrade my package to one that offers more data and in turn, would save me some money.

The deal included a Samsung active watch, which I did not need. But after being reassured that I would not be paying extra for it - I agreed to take it.

The phone got delivered on the 12th of March - but no watch. I then called the after sales number the following day. Here I was told that the only way to rectify this matter - is for Vodacom to collect the phone, cancel the upgrade, then reprocess the upgrade and then deliver a new phone with a watch. (Who knows how long this whole process would take!)

I was quite distraught at this point, since I had already opened and started setting up my new phone. This also made me wonder, does Samsung now need to absorb this loss? Since surely, this phone cannot be sold as new again (even though it was only used for a second). I bet these Administrative errors occur frequently at Vodacom and probably gets written off as "the customer wasn't happy". Perhaps I shall write a letter to Samsung too.

It is now the 25th of March, the phone has not even been collected nor have I received any courtesy calls or feedback of any kind. I am strongly considering cancelling the upgrade - but then not reprocessing it at all - as I should have done from the beginning.
