Upgrade Nightmare

13Nov: I log onto Vodacom, click upgrade, choose my CURRENT number to be upgraded, choose my package and phone from an Online Exclusive and leave the site. I then receive the following SMS's. 13Nov20: SMS that Vetting for Vodacomdirec-*** approved 18Nov20: LG V50 out for delivery, *** 18Nov20: LG V50 delivered to me 18 Nov20: SMS from Vodacom that my NEW number will be activated in 24hrs!

19Nov20: I call Customer Care stating I don't want a new number, just an upgrade to my excising number. They can't help me with Online Specials and transfer my call to Online Deals. They can't cancel the deal only Customer Care (CC) can! So back to customer care to be told that the handset must be collected, before the deal can be cancelled! Me: Why do you need to do this as I already have the phone I ordered online. Just change the paperwork on your side. They can't help me further and put me BACK to Online Deals. I hit a dead-end here as well as Online Deals can't do anything about the phone I have, they can only help me with a new deal. BUT the deal I got by going online directly (R299pm) is R599 if I PHONE in to do an Online Deal!! This is a MESS. Can someone with authority please get in touch with me.

That would be great, although "in due course" doesn't sound encouraging. The core to this problem is that there's not a central place where cross department problems can be resolved.
