Upgrade nightmare

I've been a Vodacom customer for over 5 years. Recently my contract became due for an upgrade. I was happy with my old contract, and asked that it continue. I was told I would not have to do anything further. The next month my airtime was misallocated and when I enquired, I was told it was a technical glitch nothing to do with my contract. But it was not corrected. It happened again this month, and I saw that I had been overcharged for the last two months! Apparently my contract had lapsed and it cannot be reinstated on the same terms. But no one told me! In fact I was given incorrect information on two separate occassions! How can a multinational company get away with such *********** service? Contract customers should be treated with extra care because we are your regulars, and when a contract becomes due for an upgrade it is an opportunity to renew and strengthen that customer relationship. Instead Vodacom made it a confusing, time-consuming, expensive nightmare!!

Best regards,
Less than 5 hours after my initial hellopeter post on this issue, it is resolved! A Vodacom agent emailed me for more information, then gave a textbook apology (took responsibility, said sorry, offered amends and managed expectations for future interactions). Amazing. I guess hellopeter posts are powerful and addressed by the best customer service agents. Ideally I would not have had this experience in the first place, but thank you for dealing with it now. Happy to put this behind us and continue as a Vodacom customer.
