Upgrade mess - Very Unhappy Customer

Good Day,

On October 10, I made an enquiry to Vodacom and Cellucity. After spending a few days phoning the various outlets, I was eventually told that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and S8 plus (my original choice) was being discontinued and that their were no stock left.

I eventually found the LAST Note 8, at the Cellucity N1 City Branch (no complaint with the service as Chantal was the absolute best!). Unfortunately, Chantal wasn't able to give me a better deal on the phone, as I also enquired why Telkom mobile offers the Note 8 at R589, even MTN had it at R499....yet Vodacom/Cellucity has the cheapest contract at R719???? And that's without any promotional data etc. Its utterly ridiculous that I have to pay that price for a discontinued phone???

Yet, with no response from Vodacom or Cellucity....after 2 days I felt pressurised to upgrade with Note 8 at R719. Now, after 5 days, Vodacom responds....telling me that I should contact the Sales department as they can assists with a brand match????? What??? It took 5 days only for me to be told that bit of info....and then to top it off, the Customer Care person doesn't even provide a contact number for the Sales department?

What can they do for me now? Its been 4 days since my upgrade....are you going to change my contract and give me a better deal???? I'm disappointed at the service I received. I feel upset and "trapped" as I dont feel that I got a good deal on the phone. I've already cancelled my recurring data bundles with Vodacom and will continue to use as little service/data from Vodacom as possible...even if it means taking out an additional router device from another network to use instead of buying data.

I don't feel like a valued customer at all. So much for loyalty.

Thanks for nothing Salwa Isaacs
