Upgrade gone wrong, Twice.

Good Day,

My Story goes as follows:

In about March 2017 I had a Vodacom contract due for upgrade, this was a 3G ****le contract that I was no longer using so I forgot about it. Vodacom sales called me and asked if I was interested in doing an upgrade. My Wife was interested in getting a new phone so I proceeded with the call. During the upgrade process, I explicitly stated that I will only be going forward with the upgrade if I could merge her existing number onto the contract I was taking, the sales rep said it would work and I got the contact upgraded. Two days later I went into the Vodacom store in Centurion and they explained that I will not be able to merge the number. I decided to just cancel the contract and gave the phone back to Vodacom as it was within 7 days.

Skip forward to a week ago, my wife’s phone had been ****** so I went into the store at ****arney Joburg and asked about my current packages, the sales rep, Lebo, assisted. She stated that I still had my contract open that I had for the 3G ****le, the same one I had asked to be closed about 5 months ago. I asked that the package be cancelled as I HAD BEEN PAYING FOR A PACKAGE I ASKED TO BE CANCLED AND GIVEN THE PHONE BACK. She said that the package will be closed and that the money debited will be refunded. She then suggested that I use that same number to purchase the new phone as it was due for upgrade anyway. I told her the only way I would be upgrading is if I could transfer the airtime from the new contract to my wife’s existing contract, I was very explicit as if this was not possible the contract would be useless to me, Lebo assured me that this is possible, I insisted again and she then contacted Vodacom support to confirm while I was in store, they confirmed. I signed the contact and confirmed again that I will be refunded the money for the debiting on the package I had cancelled in March, she confirmed.

I went in to the store again last Friday as I was unable to transfer the airtime the night before, I was told this service must be activated and that it will take an hour. I received an SMS an hour later stating the service was active, tried again but failed. I contacted Vodacom support and they said this functionality was only available for airtime purchased, not contract airtime. I called the store where I bought the phone and they said they will get back to me, an hour later I get a call from the store stating that this was a change made in the beginning of the year.

Now I have a problem, I HAD BEEN PAYING FOR NOTHING FOR 5 MONTHS, was guaranteed functionality that I confirmed twice before taking out a contract and now I'M IN A 2 YEAR CONTRACT BECAUSE VODACOM TAKES ITS COSTOMERS FOR FOOLS.

Promised the world before I sign, twice, and straight after I've signed the truth comes out.

Please if anyone can help,

email: **********
Cell: **********
