UPGRADE gone Wrong.

Good morning, I am quite disappointed in my latest experience with Vodacom. Last week I went online to check if I can upgrade. I got the option and proceeded to do so. I selected my new package and got all the relevant info on sms and the following day the phone was received. The day after that I receive another sms stating that my NEW contract has been activated. I went on my account and saw that this was indeed the case and that I got issued a new contract and not an upgrade. I called Vodacom and asked them to please cancel this as I am not paying an additional R1200 a month for something that was a mistake on their side. They were quick to help and said I need to return the device as that device is linked to that specific contract. I requested to keep it and that they just cancel the contract and finish the upgrade but according to them that is their protocol and they can only cancel the contract once the device is returned. They will then issue a new device and do the upgrade. The same day (Friday 18 Jan) I issued the cancellation order the couriers picked up the phone. On Friday, I received not 1 but 3 sms' asking for a reply to confirm the new contract. I rep**** on all 3 with a confirmation. I had to call yesterday to find out how far along they are but only got an answer that they will have someone call me back. This has not happened yet and the amount of inconvenience this has caused is ridiculous. - I set up a new device which took quite some time just to find out I have to return it for some reason??? - They ADD a NEW number on my contract with a R1300 bill for the first deduction which I never app**** for. - Looking at what other users have been saying, I have a good feeling to believe that my account will not be credited and that extra R1300 is going to be deducted. If this happens Vodacom can be assured that I will take action and I will also cancel all my business with them. I would like to know TODAY by when the NEW number ( ********** 847) will be cancelled and by when I can expect to receive my new device on the UPGRADED line. Thank you.

This is awesome! Received this generic automated type of response yesterday and lo and behold, no one has contacted me yet. "will make contact with you in due course" is a ridiculous time frame. Nice Vodacom, you have made my decision going forward all the more easier, although it's going to be very inconvenient I think it will be worth it in the long run. You have NO issues collecting your money and selling new products in a matter of hours, but when it comes to after sales , you are laughable. I have never experienced this from you but they way this is handled feels to me that you just don't care. I understand you have numerous issues to sort out but that is unfortunately part of the game and if you want to have millions of subscribers then you need to back that up with the after sales. I'm done!
