Upgrade Gone Wrong

Contract: I***

In April 2022 I did an upgrade on my Sim Only contract as I qualified for an upgrade. I took an Upgrade for a Samsung A53 Awesome Blue in color which was delivered on the 14/04/2022. The agent that was assisting me informed me that because I am under Debt Review I could not qualify for the handset I initially wanted which was a Samsung S22 Ultra. He further informed me that the upgrade that I qualify for was either an A53 or A73. I listened to the premiums that he gave me and for both phones and I went with the A53 which was R540 (stand to be corrected) for 36 months. I took the offer and when the phone was delivered I had to do a swim swap as the new phone was brought with its own sim card which was linked to my current contract. I was happy with the phone until a few days while browsing on Facebook I came across a Vodacom Ad which stated that the contract starts from R349 per month for 36 months. I then decided to chat with the chat box and the outcome was that I could not downgrade my contract to a lower premium and I should send the phone back and re-apply for a lower premium. I was not happy but decided it was for the best as they could not downgrade the contract for me. The phone, charging cable and sim card was successfully collected by Aramex and delivered back to Vodacom. The monthly instalment went through on the 26th April 2022 for R149.00 (previous instalment) and I was expecting to get my 10 Gigs monthly on the 01st May 2022. When I checked the sim card I discovered that because a sim swap was done the old sim card was no longer in use. I then called Vodacom Client Care and I was told that the agent who assisted me to return the handset should have informed me not to send the sim card back however they will have to deliver the new sim card in the next 7-14 working days. Today it's the 20th May 2022 and my Data was allocated on the 01st May 2022 but No active sim card!!!!!!!! I cannot wait for my contract to in August 2022 as I always experience BAD SERVICE with VODACOM. I am done. I still don't get how I am supposed to pay an Extra R4000 to get the Samsung A53 that I wanted on a lesser premium or stick to the higher premium due to my financial status (Debt Review). I checked the phone on Samsung's Website and Takealot the phone is R7500 cash however Vodacom expects me to pay over R18 000 on a higher premium.?????? I have decided I will endure this treatment for the reminder of the contract (August 2022). I urgently need the new sim card to be delivered and because of the few days left before month end I would really appreciate if my data gets carried over as I will not use up all the Data by month end.
