UPGRADE *****
On 1 April I noticed my incoming SMS's were not working so called in to have it fixed as I could not make any payments without my OTP's. After 6 phone calls to Vodacom someone eventually picked up that I had requested an upgrade (new contract deal and new device, an iPhone 13), and this is what is blocking my SMS's from coming through, I did not call in and I did not request an upgrade. I was told I called in on 30 March and requested the new deal and that the device was out for delivery with Ram Couriers on 1 April to North West (I live in Gauteng). Luckily Vodacom managed to cancel the upgrade request before delivery that day (I pray this was actually done) and flagged my account for *****. The ********** person that requested my upgrades name is Thato, the number he used to receive any information about HIS delivery is ***, he had my SMS's blocked so I wouldn't receive any information on the upgrade requested/delivery information from RAM Couriers. If I didn't pick up on this SMS issue Thato would have my new device and I would be paying a whole new account from 1 May. By this time I was on my 10th call of the day. I was told I could not receive a reference number or a confirmation e-mail from Vodacom to say the request was cancelled, I couldn't even receive an SMS because the new contract needs to be cancelled first and I would have to wait for the device to be returned (up to 4 working days later) to have my SMS's activated again. I cannot make payments without OTP's. Vodacom makes it clear when they speak to you that all calls are recorded, I would like the recording for 30 March where I requested the upgrade please. I would also like to know why Vodacom does nothing about trying to catch these ********** people, you had his delivery address, you could have caught him red-handed. How could you have handed over such an expensive device to someone who was not me? I would also like to know how they got hold of all of my personal information as Vodacom takes you through a lengthy security process before even assisting you. This is not acceptable.
