Upgrade fail

I ordered an upgrade online on 13 Aug. I was contacted on 15 Aug to conclude the deal. I was told that I would receive my new handset within 2 to 4 days. At no stage was I informed that there was no stock of the item, which is now the case. On 22 Aug I was told that there is NO GUARANTEE of a date as to when I can expect my handset. I could have upgraded early, in May, which is on me, but I've now paid the handset-inclusive subscription for 4 months, my current handset is not functioning at 100% and I have no cooking clue as to when I am getting my new phone!

I have been a Vodacom customer for nearly 20 years (not on this number, in case you decide to check and call me a ****). When I sign up for another 2 years at R15k a year, this is not how I expect to be treated. That may be a drop in the ocean for you, but it's R30k of my hard-earned money. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, I was not given any options, other than a handset in a colour I don't want. I was not asked whether I would like to cancel the order. I was not offered a reduction of the handset charge from the subscription - let's face it, if customers are allowed to upgrade 3 months before termination, Vodacom have 3 months worth of device payments to play with. I sincerely do not believe that my only option is to sit here and WAIT for my phone to arrive.
