I received a call on Thursday to upgrade my phone and was very happy with the deal offered so agreed to upgrade. However, when the courier company wanted to deliver the phone this morning, I was required to supply a copy of my ID and proof of residence. The call centre agent I spoke to on Thursday only said that I had to personally take delivery of my phone and did not mention any documentation. As a result I did not have the documentation I needed. It also does not help that 30 minutes prior to delivery I received an SMS from the courier company advising that I need this documentation but I was already on my way to work. I cancelled the delivery and then phoned Vodacom online. The agent I spoke to said she could not speak on behalf of the agent who assisted me on Thursday and would get him to call me back. I am still waiting for that call. I would like a supervisor or manager to contact me to resolve this so that I can get my upgrade. I also think some training is required to ensure this does not happen to anyone else.
