Upgrade complaint
I am furious. I received a call from +***7 from one of your Vodacom agents, informing me that I was due for a device upgrade. I clearly stated that my current device is still in good condition and that I do not need a new one.
She then proceeded to explain my current package and mentioned that I could keep it as is but pay less. Based on that, I agreed, as it sounded beneficial. However, she went ahead and upgraded my package from R400 airtime to a more expensive one without my consent. Not only that, she also ordered a new device, which I explicitly did not agree to. I am not even aware of the model that was selected.
To make matters worse, the agent did not verify whether she was speaking to the correct account holder. She did not ask for any form of identification or confirmation from my side — no ID number, no security questions, nothing. This is a serious breach of procedure.
I later received the following message: “The device you’ve chosen is currently out of stock. Once stock is available for your order, it will be dispatched within 24 hours to our courier partner. Alternatively, to choose a different device, call Vodacom Aftersales Support on ***. Vodacom.”
I then contacted Vodacom, which is when I became aware of all of this.
Vodacom, this is unacceptable. I request that everything be cancelled immediately and that my original package be reinstated without any changes.
Furthermore, I do not want to receive any calls regarding upgrades on my account. If I require any changes or upgrades, I will contact Vodacom myself. Please ensure that this is the last call of this nature on my account.
