Upgrade cancelled for non delivery
My sister upgraded her phone contract on Black Friday weekend. She took the Oppo A15 for R 125pm with R 125 airtime pm.
Vodacom asked for her delivery address and she gave them her work address. The courier company called her and told her about the delivery and she said she finishes work at 3.30pm and that they should only deliver before 3.30pm.
The courier company came through on 3 occasions and each time it was after 4pm, even though she specifically told them to come before 3.30pm. She asked them to deliver to her home address and they were not willing to change the delivery address.
The courier company then returns the phone to Vodacom and Vodacom in turn cancels her upgrade.
When she called Vodacom, they now tell her that she will have to take that same contract at R 199 per month for R 125 airtime pm with the same Oppo A15 phone.
Please can a consultant call to rectify this as she would like to stay with Vodacom and just get the same contract she signed up for on Black Friday.

To my knowledge vodacom does not cancel a contract with a customer if it cannot deliver a device especially if the customer had been with vodacom for at least 2 years.
Should vodacom not call the customer first to see why the device could not be delivered?
Also clear instruction on delivery times were given to the courier company and the times were not adhered to. How does that make it the customers fault?
Vodacom should have called me as the customer to confirm what was the problem with delivery instead of the contract being canceled.
I will be taking this matter up with higher level vodacom management to resolve as this is unacceptable behavior from a service provider and certainly your senior management can see the type of service being provided by your team.
Promotional deals have been previously offered after the deal has taken place when mistakes are made by vodacom itself and not the customer.
