Upgrade and why you should rather change suppliers (Part 2)

This is a continuation of the previous review (https://www.hellopeter.com/vodacom/reviews/upgrade-and-why-you-should-rather-change-suppliers- ********** )

The situation has literally gone from bad to worse.

Since the original incident, I have been sent "my device" by Vodacom. The "device" sent to me from Joburg (apparently Cape Town is not a major city in South Africa) turned out not to be the upgrade that I ordered (and was confirmed by Vodacom). I was sent a sim card instead of a Samsung S8!

I was then told that Ram couriers had to collect the sim again and return it to Joburg before Vodacom could cancel the upgrade (which they got wrong in the first place) enabling me to start the whole upgrade process from scratch.

I even offered to pay the cost of the sim so that they could just cancel the uprgrade and I could try again in store, but was informed that I couldn't because " we are following our process".

Ram were supposed to collect today. They did not. Why am I not surprised!

Vodacom's response to non-collection? "We are following our process", which seems to be punishing the client for the mistakes that Vodacom makes. Meanwhile I've spent my whole month's talk time already just trying to sort this mess out, so now I need to buy more airtime if I plan to make any calls for the rest of the month. Thank you Vodacom!

(By the way when contacting Ram Couriers on their 0861 number be aware that while you're on hold you're paying 72c/minute from your Vodacom cellphone)

Vodacom, here's a hint, if your process caused the issue in the first place then it might an idea to not follow that same process again and instead prioritise correcting the issue that it caused. That's called customer service.

Can you give me one good reason why I should even renew my contract for another 2 years seeing as part of that contract is to be able to upgrade my handset and you can't seem to get that right?
