I called cancellations department on 31/01 at around 10:30. I spoke to Amanda.

I cancelled my number ending in 7727 with her as I have no more use for that line. I also contacted your insurance department to cancel my insurance on my handset.

I was advised at that time, while speaking to Amanda that my contract ending 2680 is due for an upgrade as of September 2016. I advised her that I have already upgraded in June 2016 and I struggle to believe the truth in that. She then assured me that my contract is due for an upgrade and I can get a new phone. I asked her - multiple times - will I be paying for two handsets if I do the upgrade, or do I have to send the other handset back. To which she answered "not even", meaning No, every time.

Being advised this, it sounded good, as the phone I got in June was giving problems and because the advisor told me that I will only be paying for the new phone, since this is an upgrade.

I have received my new phone and the contract has been upgraded. But I see on my Vodacom, that I AM BEING CHARGED FOR TWO HANDSETS!

Bow the manager at the customer care center Khanyisile that I have been advised wrong, and that as far as her knowledge stretches you will have to pay for the old handset until it's 2 years are over.

Let me be very clear, I was ******** into taking this upgrade on false pretenses that I will only be paying one handset i.e. the newest Samsung S7. I will not be paying the (Blackberry Priv) old handset. If you come back to me and advise me that I need to pay both, I will be contacting my lawyers and the ombudsman and I WILL cancel ALL my accounts with Vodacom.

If needed I will gladly hand in my previous handset to yourselves (Blackberry Priv). I have now upgraded to the S7 according to what was advised by Amanda to myself and will thus only be paying the S7.

I also see that even though I was advised that my insurance on the Blackberry Priv had been cancelled, I will still be charged for it at the end of March! The end of February makes sense as that could be for January's month, but the end of March is not on.

All in all my contract should be R889 per month, but im currently being charged R1425.

I do believe this is deceit and I will not stand for this.

I forgot to mention, upon callback from Vodacom a woman spoke to me to confirm that I have indeed upgraded, I asked her the same questions and was advised that I will only pay for one handset. That is when I gave the final go ahead.
