Up to date account sent to debt collector!
In September Vodacom did not fire off a debit order since the date fell on a public holiday (ridiculous, I know). After quite a bit of back and forth trying to get the amount redebited and system errors eventually the outstanding amount was debited, and my account was fully paid up.

In December I got an sms from Vodacom that my account had been handed over to Legal Collections. I immediately phoned Vodacom and was assured that my account was up to date, that they would investigate, and that I had nothing to worry about.

In January I got an sms that I must make an immediate payment against my arrear account to avoid a negative credit rating. Needless to say I immediately phoned Vodacom, and again was assured that my account was up ta date and that they would totally investigate it this time.

And now in February I get an sms that my account has been handed over to a debt collection agency and that this will result in a negative credit rating! I've tried to phone Vodacom but every time they try the legal department the call gets sent back to Customer Care!

If it transpires that I have been negatively rated I'm obviously going straight to the ombud and my own legal department!
