Unwillingness to replace insured phone

Vodacom insurance - Terrible now 7 months . Cant get a phone out of them . Unwillingness to replace insured phone

Last year sometime My OPPO phone stared resetting and giving issues . I took it to the repair shop and it was unrepairable. I upgraded my contract as the claim had to be processed . I could not wait or be without a phone. Some time later the phone was deemed not repairable . As Vodacom does not allow cash payouts I wanted to replace my wife’s phone. Vodacom Brooklyn (Pretoria) could not help me. I checked in a few times and to no avail. The Brooklyn shop recommended I go to Vodacom Menlyn mall.

I was already very unhappy about the situation . No one cared one bit that Vodacom did not honour its obligation.

My wife’s phone needed to be replaced and I went to Vodacom Menlyn.

I stared at the bottom floor Vodacom shop. I enquired about the long outstanding insurance matter. The person looked at his computer – NOTHING ! We phoned the insurance . I told my story and they offered me an I-phone 16 128 gig. After a while spoke to the service agent. SORRY NO STOCK ! I enquired of I can get a I phone 16 ,256 gig and I will pay the difference NO. The agent told me to try my luck at other Vodacom shops !

I went to the top floor Vodacom shop. This time I inquired first . Do you have an I-Phone 16 128 gig ? YES. I told the whole insurance story. The service agent became less happy. Now she wanted the name of the service agent of the previous Vodacom shop. I walked tow to get his name. When I came back with the person’s name she informed me that I cant get a phone anymore. I had to bring the old phone. I gave in the old phone to the Brooklyn mall shop and signed a document more than 6months ago ! The old phone is not my problem anymore. I waited for the manager . The manager eventually came there. “WE ARE A FRANCHISE AND HAVE NOTING TO DO WITH VODACOM. “ the shop is marked as a Vodacom shop.
