Unwarranted price increases!

After renewing my contract with Vodacom just under a year ago, they have recently added another "R5" to my premium. Post a conversation with one of their customer care consultants, I was advised: 1. Some customers got the notice of the price increase versus some who did not - how can Vodacom operate this way?!?!?! 2. I did not get any notification to which I am aware off nor is it on their website as advised by the consultant. 3. Discussions with the agent was futile (not really his faults as he does what he is told) as it is just another Vodacom approach to squeeze more money because they feel they can with the mindset of if you as the customer are not happy then go somewhere else as we dont really care.

This increase was supposedly a line rental increase of 6% which they reserve the right to increase whenever they please.

This basically gives them full mandate/authority to increase their levies being fully aware that once a customer is locked within a lengthy contract it actually costs more to come out of the contract as opposed to the "small" increase they have added on.

Such poor behaviour!

Dear Customer,

Thank you for the time and effort taken to voice your dissatisfaction to our office. It is with the cooperation and feedback from valued clients such as yourself that we are able to identify any areas of improvement within our organisation.

Please note that we have done our utmost to keep the increase across our contracts as low as possible, and made sure that we have added value to your contract in the form of data or airtime.

Price increases are sadly unavoidable, given the circumstances outlined  in the communication sent to you.

We apologize for the inconvenience and the service experienced.

Regards,

Vodacom Consumer Website Team

Best regards,

The value was always there.

In my previous contracts as well you guys just increased the premiums.

I signed up with a fixed premium for 2 years... not for it to be increased whenever you feel like.

Vodacom can have a change of mind and double the premium and if we not happy and cancel we are still liable for the remainder of the contract which is utter nonsense.

Why respond privately and not publicly?

If you have nothing to hide, let people know how you selectively choose to increase premiums and by my guess it is probably done to people who have fulfilled their contractual obligations i.e. having their premiums paid on time.
