Unsolicited upgrade by Vodacom
On 12 December 2018, I received an sms from Vodacom stating that my quotation has been processed. Out of concern, I called Vodacom to find out what quotation are they referring to and I was informed that an upgrade was processed in Highveld for an iPhone XR of which I did not authorize. I have a WiFi router contract with Vodacom that is ending in March and I was not intending on renewing the contract. The lady by the name of Mumsie from retentions made a conference call to Highveld Mall where the iPhone was processed, we spoke to Sidney who had no care in the world that he processed a ********** transaction. We asked Sidney what documents did he request when he was processing an upgrade from a WiFi plan to the top of the range iphone which costs R1799.99 per month from a router plan that was R300.00. He just said he had an original copy of ID and he made a copy; it is really strange because on 12 December I had my identity document with me. As Sidney was rude he just said we can talk to his manager and the manager by the name of Barbrah took the call and she had no sense of urgency that a ********** activity took place in the store that she manages, she blatantly told me to refer to the ***** department even though I wanted to report Sidney for the terrible customer experience but Barbrah was not any different from Sidney- she was just as rude.
How does a store manager treat me so terribly when my ID has been *******ly used? Vodacom should look into Barbra’s conduct, she is very rude it’s honestly unfathomable- it’s honestly not a surprise why Sidney spoke to me they way he did.
Thank you for taking my call. As per our telephonic conversation I have advised accordingly with regards to your query.
