Unsolicited subscription service

I became aware of an item on my September invoice (vodafone live) that I did not subscribe to. I contacted the call centre, who told me that I am subscribed to some service, but could not tell me what. I was advised to unsubscribe from all subscription services using the *111# function, which I did. According to that, I was subscribed to vodacom AirG. I am 100% sure that I did not subscribe to this service, or use it at any point in time. After a few days, when I checked on *111# to make sure that I am not subscribed anymore, I saw that yet again I was subscribed to vodacom AirG. How does this happen? I contacted vodacom again, requesting a refund, as I did not subscribe to this service.

At first the service request was logged under the wrong section (on 18 Sept). When I contacted vodacom again 2 weeks later, I was told that a new request was logged on 2 Oct, and that I should wait until 2 weeks after that date for feedback.

When I received my October invoice, I was charged again for the subscription service. When I contacted vodacom again, I was told that I should wait for the pending service request to be finalised. I contacted the call centre again on Saturday, just to be told that the resolution to the service request only stated that the subscription has been cancelled. According to the agent vodacom will not refund me, as it is a third party who charged these amounts to my account.

I am extremely unhappy about this, as I did not subscribe to any service, and was charged again even after complaining about it. I have a contract with vodacom, and not with any third party, therefore I feel that vodacom should take responsibility for ********** charges like this.

If vodacom can provide me with evidence that I subscribed to this service, and show me where in my contract I agreed that any amount can be added to my invoice by a third party, I will consider paying for it. But until then, I will not. I informed the call centre agent that I will contact my bank on Monday and cancel my vodacom debit order. I will subtract the amounts charged on my Sept and Oct invoices for the subscription services, and personally pay the balance.

This is only the latest of several complaints this year.

As soon as my contract ends I will never again be a vodacom customer!

It is now a week after the automated response by vodacom, but no real response. Fortunately I could cancel the debit order.

And now it is two week without any real feedback.
The automated responses sent by Vodacom is just another misleading tactic by Vodacom to create the false impression that they are actually concerned about customer service.
The only way I would change my star rating was if there was a zero star option!
