Unsolicited SMS's in the early morning hours

Vodacom keeps sending me unsolicited promotional SMS's in the early hours of the morning! I have received random SMS's from the company @ 02h30, 01h30 and 04h30 in the past. I have called their call center and somehow navigated the convoluted answering system to finally speak to a human - they escalated the call to IT and I was assured that the problem was fixed (Customer Ref #A9-####-####.) This morning, much to my chagrin, I once again received an unsolicited SMS @ 01h36!: "Recharge with R35 or more using the VodaPay app before..." Really Vodacom? who needs this information @ 01H36 in the morning? If you fail to action such a simple matter, perhaps it would be best to move my number to another network and tell all my family and friends to move along with me.

Thanks for nothing Vodacom - you send a generic reply , a promise to follow up and then you fail to even do that. Has the "telecommunications giant" forgotten how to make calls to customers on their own network?

Hallelujah! Vodacom does listen to their customers. They have made a concerted effort to get hold of me , remedy the matter and have taken the time to call and explain the measures they have put in place to resolve the problem and how I could personally manage any future incidents (should they occur with different promotions.) Thank you Aaisha & Derek from Customer Care and IT , respectively, & thanks Vodacom for listening.
