Unsatisfied customer struggling to cancel

My father Willem van Deventer has cancelled his cellphone contract with vodacom to switch to pre paid on 31 may 2025( a months notice as requested) as he was retrenced from his work.

Even though he did everything right vodacom still tried to take off debit orders after 30 June 2025 which would have been his last payment as told by vodacom Hemmingways East London branch. After that my father has been to all branches in East London to sort out this problem as now Vodacom gave him over to the legal department and debt collectors over R299 that wasn't even legally charged as he cancelled in time and interest was added. Since then he also made another payment of R364.87 just to settle the account and make sure all is in order. (Which I feel is unfair as he cancelled on time) We have phoned and lodge complaints with all vodacom departments and was assured by vodacom employees that the account has been settled and all is sorted. But yet again today 1 Nov 2025 vodacom wanted to debit another R589.46 for outstanding interest. This has now been 5 months and we are still stuggling with this matter. This needs to be sorted now!!!!!!!!!!

This is totally unacceptable as my father is an eldery man with no monthly income and depends on sassa. He has even developed shingles with all this unnecessary stress and I had to take him to the dr.

Please see all reference numbers and dates that we have tried to sort out all this nonsense. I*** email sent 25 Sep 2025 and 17 Oct 2025 to *** reference number: ***. Phoned multiple times: 19,22&26 Sep 2025 and 17 Oct 2025

It is funny how fast you can get a new contract but when you need to cancel no one can help you!!!!!!
