Unsatisfied customer

My husband bought me a phone in May 2020 on contract, the phone started having battery issues in November, we took the phone in @ Vodacom repairs fourways mall, the consultant promised we would have our phone back in 3-7 days because it was still under warranty. Two days later my husband received an sms from Vodacom saying we must pay R6000 to initiate the warranty, otherwise they are not repairing the phone because it has a small crack on the side. The phone has been working well with that crack and you can clearly see the battery is the issue because it was swollen on the back to the point that the phone is coming apart. Now the the consultant says we must pay R1200 to fix the battery because we don't have R6000 to repair the screen. Mind you this contract is for 36 months and it's only been 6 months since I have had the phone. Can Vodacom and Samsung explain , are you saying we must pay for a device that's not working for the next 30 months and the warranty is not applicable because of a small chip on the corner, this is ****************. You selling us mediocre devices and expect us to pay exorbitant money all in the name of "contract" this bullish must come to an end.
