Unsatisfied customer

In July 2016 I upgraded my contract, I also did a transfer of ownership, since my contract was on my fathers’ name before the upgrade. In August 2016, Vodacom deducted money from both my father’s and my bank accounts. We contacted customer service several times and also visited Vodacom branches, to help us to sort out the problem, but still nothing.

After numerous calls & visits to Vodacom, by both my father and I, Vodacom informed us that they had implemented a new computer system right about the same time that I went and did my upgrade & changed the contract to my name, and the error in our bills was a result of the merging of their new and old system, we were promised that Vodacom would reimburse my father for the money wrongly deducted from his bank account. This has still not happened (7 months and counting).

After the initial problem was rectified, or so we thought, as Vodacom communicated that they were aware of the error, and would reimburse my father (Still with no reimbur*****t to date), I recognized that I am paying for 2 handset instalments every month -for my old and new phone.

I phoned Vodacom, and they let me know, that I had to pay for both handsets for 3 months, as there were still 3 months’ handset instalments outstanding on my previous phone, I upgraded 3 months before the end of my contract… September 2016 bill should have been the last month where Vodacom deducted both instalments but all as I am still to date paying for both handsets. (That is 5 months where Vodacom has deducted additional money from my account, for a phone that was already paid off in September 2016).

Again I have phone Vodacom Customer Service NUMEROUS times but to now avail as nobody can assist. The last time I phoned, 16 January 2017, I was told that they would phone me back regarding the problem, or come back with a solution, and it is today 10th February 2017, and guess what, I still haven’t heard anything from Vodacom, I am still paying for my “old” phone that was fully paid September 2016 and there has still not been any reimbur*****t for the money that was wrongfully deducted from my father’s account.

I am STRONGLY considering cancelling my contract with Vodacom to move to a more reliable service provider, or at least an honest service provider that has SOME level of customer service.

But then again, Vodacom would probably keep deducting money from my account, because apparently they feel they are entitled to it..?

I would be super grateful if somebody could contact me, for more information regarding this problem, and to get it sorted A.S.A.P.

I am no lawyer, but logic tells me that it is ******* to deduct money for the same contract/Cell phone number from 2 different people’s bank accounts, and it is just as ******* to keep deducting a handset instalment for a phone that was fully paid in September 2016.

With all of that being said, it is also not fair of any service provider, to expect their customers to spend hours on the phone with customer service, and nobody lifts a finger to help. We all have work, and things to do, and we pay Vodacom A LOT of money, and expect good service in return.

I hope to receive feedback soon.

Very Disappointed customer.
