Unresolved Fibre Service Installation and Poor Customer Support
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service provided by Vodacom regarding the installation of fibre services at my new property, and the subsequent customer service experience. I am an existing Vodacom client and have been using your fibre network services satisfactorily until recently. In anticipation of my move to a new property, I duly notified your team at the end of November 2023, understanding the terms and conditions that the installation may take up to 30 days. This delay was acceptable, even considering the busy holiday season. However, the issue at hand is the significant lack of communication from Vodacom during this period. As we approached the 30-day mark, I initiated several follow-ups, making over seven attempts to gain clarity on the status of my installation. Despite these efforts, I have been met with repeated assurances of being contacted within 48 hours, yet no such communication has been forthcoming. More infuriating was an incident involving a call center representative, (call-centre alias BHUDA), who displayed an unacceptable level of unprofessionalism by refusing to address my queries and abruptly terminating the call. This level of service is not only disappointing but also (I believe) a breach of the trust and reliability I expected from Vodacom. The lack of effective communication and disregard for customer concerns has caused significant inconvenience and frustration. As a loyal customer, I expected a higher standard of service and prompt resolution of issues. The failure to install the fibre service within the communicated timeframe, compounded by the unsatisfactory customer service, has left me questioning my continued patronage of Vodacom. I believe I've reached the threshold referred to in the Vodacom complaints guidelines where "Upon exhaustion of all aforementioned options to resolve complaint(s) and a customer is still not satisfied with Vodacom, such customer is at liberty to escalate his grievance(s) to the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA)"
