Unrequested credit enquiry

Vodacom conducted a credit enquiry against me without me ever approaching them for credit. I received an sms to say a credit enquiry was done on my profile,then I went to check credit report and there it was,vodacom did an enquiry of which I did not request,I feel like this was a violation of my privacy and it was also ********,when I did not answer calls from vodacom ***) that day 14/02/2024 I did not think this would happen.
