Unreliable fibre offering
Vodacom Fibre launched at our estate a few years back after entering into an exclusive deal with the body corporate. At first, the experience was really good. They were not the cheapest, but their 100mbps fibre had the biggest threshold in terms of it's fair-use policy, making it a very attractive offer. Unfortunately, Vodacom's Fibre in our area has degraded drastically in quality and reliability over the last few months.
The clients in our estate is now getting a lot of random drop-outs, and severely decreased speed. I have on record, multiple SMS's from Vodacom, and multiple support tickets ... then it's down, then it's up ... then it's down again .. extremely frustrating.
To add further insult to injury, Vodacom announced that all speeds below 200mbps will be doubled from 4 Aug 2021, which seemed like good news, only it has had the opposite effect. My 100mbps worked relatively fine (when it works ...) but my (now) 200mbps is operating at less than 40mbps!
I have logged support tickets for all the issues I've been having. In terms of the speed issue, I'm just not getting any feedback whatsoever. The call-center operators don't know, and that in itself is a frustrating experience. For example, what's the use of going through all those voice-prompts, punching in your ID every time, they ALWAYS ask you for the info again because it doesn't come though on their system when you call? So inefficient.
I have 3 Vodacom contracts ... Fibre, a dedicated data sim on my tab, and one for my phone. However, this experience with Vodacom Fibre has not been good at all and I'm seriously considering other suppliers at the moment, not just for myself, but also for my business. Really not happy at all. I expect more from the company I've put so much faith in for decades now. I would love to know what they intend on doing about this, and if (at the very least) they are prepared to refund or discount their clients for the severely degraded service we've been experiencing.
You essentially broke your own service with these upgrades on 4 Aug (notwithstanding the consistent downtime that preceded that in July). As of now, I'm counting 7 automated SMS's from Vodacom since 10 Aug about the service being either down or restored. I understand that up-time won't be at the max speed 'all the time', but less than a quarter? Come on. Please make good on your word and contact me, otherwise I'm cancelling. This cannot continue any longer.

Although I'm happy with the outcome, this type of support experience should never drag on like this ... almost a month later, and all it took was one simple action. I was very lucky to eventually find someone who was willing to go just a little bit further. Thank goodness for that.
