Unprecedented expense

I woke up on Saturday 1st October 2016 thinking that I would be able to change majority of my "cell phone contract" allocation of R200 into data for the month only to find that there was R77 short on my contract.

When I phoned Vodacom to enquire about where the money had disappeared to, I was first greeted by "We are experiencing high call volumes, please continue to hold or try again later". So I put the phone down as I had errands to go do. When I returned home I tried again and I got the same message. It took almost 20min before someone answered the phone. When I got through to the call center lady, I asked her where the money had disappeared to and she told me that it was taken for subscriptions dating back to 2012. I informed the lady that I do not subscribe to junk that charges on a daily basis and that for the past 6 months I was never charged for such subscriptions and I said that the missing airtime be returned to me. To date I have not received a phone call from Vodacom to apologize for the inconvenience caused and have also not received the missing airtime.

This is now the 2nd complaint I have filled against Vodacom in the last 2 months. I am starting to get the feeling that Vodacom is slipping and that they do not want continued service from a loyal customer as I have been with Vodacom for almost 20 years now.
