******** UPGRADE OF CONTRACT
I entered into a contract with Vodacom for the provision of a cellular service to be provided by them(Vodacom), under account No. I ********** -4. The service was to cover two phones namely, 082 ... 5760 and 082 ... 5201. The contract was termed"uchoose Flexi 110", which would endure for 24 months. My records show this arrangement was instigated by a Vodacom consultant one Selwyn Buys on 30 August 2017. The monthly cost to me for this service was made up as follows: Airtims subs - uChoose Flexi 110 96.52 CIB Discount - 27.19 CIB discount - 27.19 VAS - Caller Identity Subscription 8.33 Total R58.04 incl VAT for each line, which results in a total amount of R116.08 for both lines. At the end of August 2018, I received a statement which indicated that an amount of R178.62 was due by me. This amount exceeded my agreed contract amount by R62.54. I immediately contacted Vodacom to dispute the change in the contract and was informed that I would receive an answer within one week. Within three days (16:30 on 04 September 2018) I received an SMS stating the following: Hi R Hutchons "You are being billed correctly. The billing prior to August invoices was incorrect as lines are not suppose to receive two discounts. These two lines should only receive a R-31.27 CIB discount for each of the lines as per upgrade quotations (2017-08-31 on 2772...5201 and 2017-09-15 on 082...5760) Regards, Mbali (Vodacom). I have no recollection of any upgrade quotations as described by "Mbali" and contend that any discrepancies made by the Vodacom consultant (Selwyn Buys) on 30 August 2017 when the plan was formulated, is a Vodacom problem and not mine. Further, I believe that to alter the monetary of a contract in mid-term, without my knowledge as the client is ******** and effectively renders the contract null and void even though I still receive a service, albeit at a much higher cost. This is due to the fact that I have heard nothing further from Vodacom even though I submitted an official Dispute to their ***** Unit at Vodacom's request. *** 18/10/18. The ***** Units reference No: EC-1KS0-2092BQ. In their reply to me the ***** Unit stated, I quote "Once we have acknowledge that we have received all the necessary documents the process will take 14 working days" I have not received anything from Vodacom other than an SMS stating that my account had again been upgraded but at no extra cost.
