******** billing by Vodacom airG Gold

I have a Vodacom prepaid account and am always aware as to my balance, so when airtime started to disappear unexplainably I contacted Vodacom to find out where this airtime was going. They informed me that I had subscribed to airG. I didn’t even know what airG was, but was told to send STOP ALL WC to 30333, which I proceeded to do. It happened a few times where I was being billed, and this was for something I did not subscribe to.

I received the following SMS on a few occasions:
Welcome to Vodacom airG! First day FREE then R2/day. Click here to continue:http://airg.com/vcga or Click here to Unsubscribe http://live.vodafone.com/unsub

I didn’t understand why I received such an SMS to begin with, because I had never clicked on any link in any browser on my phone. I thought that if I clicked on that link, it would send a signal to the server stating that my number is real and they would bill me, so I never clicked. A few weeks down the line I realised that they were deducting R2/day, even though I had never officially clicked a link to agree to their services, and neither did I click on the “Click here to continue” link. To this very day I have no clue what services airG offers, all I know is that they have ****** money from me. I started doing some investigation on airG and a simple Google search will bring up MANY complaints with the same issue as mine, ******** billing. After discussing my issue with a friend, he too realised that they were billing him R230 per month and was completely unaware of it due to a debit order system of his cellphone account. airG can be *****ing MILLIONS from unsuspecting cellphone accounts and they need to be held accountable for this ********** behaviour, Vodacom should be equally held liable for this.

I found that airG is based in Canada, so I emailed all the contacts stating that a ******** act has taken place and ******** billing has been happening on my account. I also opened up a case with Vodacom, to which I have yet to get a response. I then received an email from Cilliers Niemann, with the title of Business Solutions Support – Africa. I explained the ******** happenings and he wanted my cellphone number, which I was reluctant to give at first because I thought I would have additional billings done to my number. He then proceeded to acknowledge that they had indeed billed me, and tried to call me – four times in a row and later another three times in one afternoon. By him trying to call me so many times raised several flags, it showed that they knew they were guilty – especially when he wanted to refund the amount that they stole from me. He has subsequently tried to call me a total of twelve times, each time I did not answer as I was not prepared to speak to him. He has also admitted that they know which app caused the ******** billing and has subsequently stopped advertising on that site – which again, proves guilt. I have everything documented in emails, and there is proof that they have ****** from me. Had I not contacted them, they would have happily have kept my money that they stole from me, just like they can be doing to several other million subscribers - *****ing millions from unsuspecting cellphone accounts. I did not accept their offer of refunding the money they stole from me.

I consulted with an Advocate of the High Court, and he confirmed that the actions of airG is ******** and **********. I have opened a case of ***** against airG at the local SAPS.

In a nutshell, I have been ********ly billed for services that I never subscribed to. I never clicked on any link acknowledging acceptance of a service that is billed daily. The acts that has been committed by airG is ********** and Vodacom is equally to blame for allowing funds to be released to them.

If this has happened to you, please comment below, be sure to check your cellphone statements, you could have had a few thousand rand ****** if you not careful.
