'Unknown Caller' Displaying for Saved Contacts

Vodacom, is it really true that you charge users to see the numbers which are calling them, even personal saved contacts? I just activated my contract with you guys and I cannot see who is calling me. I never answer unknown calls. I only realised the problem when my partner called me and it came up as an 'unknown number'. This can be jeopardising to a business or an emergency if you do not have the details of the person who contacted you? My pet just recently went missing and a woman called me with information and the line cut out but I unfortunately can never trace her again because her number didn't display.

Please tell me this isn't true and there is a simple solution around this?
