I have been a contract client with Vodacom since December 2016. My contract is due for an upgrade end of 2018 but now I'm reconsidering based on the service I received from Vodacom. I have not been able to access my phone for the past 2 days, as my switches on but doesn't do anything further. I went to Mall@Carnival during my lunch break to get it booked in so I first went to VodacomChatz as it's the closest the entrance of where I parked. After explaining my issue they inform me thatmy phone will have to be taken to lakeside as that's where they send phones for repairs/checkups etc. But when I agree that they can take it they inform me that it's easier and faster if I take it myself which I declined as my work schedule is too busy for me to drive to Lakeside, Benoni. So the supervisor, if not mistaken, informs me that they don't take in phones and I'll have to go upstairs to Vodacom4u. I then proceed upstairs, at this stage I want to get the phone booked in so that within 7-14 days I'll have an operational phone. I arrive and the gentlemen near the door tries to assist me, patiently and kindly, by resetting my phone and other methods to see if my phone indeed needs to be booked in. Unfortunately, he's unable to assist, which I don't mind as I'm happy that he tried to help me out. Then directs me to one of the consultants so that I can get my phone booked in but then after waiting yet again, the consultant informs me that they cannot book my phone because I bought my phone at Game and they'll have to assist me! What I don't understand is my debit order reads Vodacom not Game as the contract is under Vodacom so why must I be pushed around from store to store just to get my phone booked in? Does it make a difference which store I took up my phone in? Why are consultants asking clients to drive to other cities to book in phones instead of understanding ehat an incovenience it is for me to 1) have no phone and 2) having to drive and explain yet again what the problem is? At the end of the day my contract is with Vodacom and I believe should I have a problem, they should assist, because based on the experience today it seems they have no care about the inconvenience that puts on myself as a customer. Now, I'll have to go to Game tomorrow, during my lunch hour, to get my phone booked in but I'm unimpressed. I missed my lunch today, I hope I do not experience the same issues.
