UNHAPPY VODACOM CUSTOMER...HAPPY WITH ANOTHER NETWORK PROVIDER

I have been a Vodacom customer for more than ten years now. Have always paid well. In July 2017,they cut all my lines and after weeks of not getting a straight answer from Customer Care, which seem to be taught Parrot fashion...as they can never really resolve the issue,I was told via email that I as the account holder cancelled my Lines, which was a complete lie...I as the account holder did no such thing...it turns out my husband called them and was told the best option would be to cancel the lines...and he agreed with the consultant, who then apparently cancelled my lines. I was never contacted with regards to this request. After speaking to a Consumer Attorney, she advised me to make a complaint on Hello Peter as only then Vodacom would take it seriously....at which point I was contacted and Vodacom changed their story,as the lines were cancelled *******ly and without Mandate from myself as the account holder. As I believed the lines were cancelled that Vodacom was charging me penalty fees, which I was not prepared to pay as I never cancelled the lines. Then an attorney working for another Cell Provider sent an email to a higher up person in the Vodacom Exco division to assist me with my case...and in January 2018 I was told that Vodacom would investigate what happened as this was not right. I paid Vodacom R12500 beginning of March 2018,which meant I was no longer in arrears as it turns out it was not penalty fees that I was been charged, but the fact that I had not made payment. I was then told that I could re- in state my lines with Vodacom and part of this process was to sign an agreement which stated that I would be on probation of 3 to 6 months pending a compulsory debit order going off my bank account as to see if I could keep to my commitments. After which I would be able to upgrade. It has been quite a few months now and after countless sms messages to come in and upgrade, they have now said that I was listed on Transunion and I needed a paid up letter before I could upgrade and according to them,I could not afford my contracts. ..which is fine if I can pay them....not to mention they listed me on ITC after not receiving payment in 2017,but they would not tell me at the time what was going on with the account until I was contacted by a member of the Exco office to sort the situation out. I was never at Vodacom Legal....might have been a credit risk...but for several months now the amount has beeb going off my account with no problems. After months of feeling like what am I paying for as they won't allow me to upgrade,I then contacted Vodacom The Grove branch who then informed me that I am on a Month to Month contract....which I was never told... and after much consideration I called the Retentions department and cancelled the 3 out of the 5 lines that I could cancel. The operator on the line was very sincere and apologetic for the treatment I received by Vodacom and I told her that I tried to make good with Vodacom and owe them nothing and they did not want to keep me as client. Not to mention I paid well over the years and this is how they treated me... Business is tough and you read of people''s experiences with this particular network and you never really take it very seriously until you are treated in an appalling manner. Funny how Vodacom is the provider handing out pamphlets at the robots. ..it seems another provider is willing to assist me with a Contract, which I will now consider.
