Unhappy and dissatisfied
I went for an upgrade and purchased a brand new iPhone 15pro 1TB from Vodacom Broad Acres on 11th September 2024. The iphone was boxed but not sealed what so ever. I immediately enquired why the box was not sealed, to which the lady who served me responded that Iphone do not seal the boxes any longer, and mentioned that sellophane wrapping is not good for the environment, so I opened the box. I immediately started to experience problems with the iphone (did not ring, and every now and then cut off when talking on the phone, the battery runs down without been used and various other problems) and i took it back to the store, and was advised that i could take is in at the end of the month to be accessed. There-after the owner of the store's future son-in-law Ruan called me to inform me that they are replacing my faulty iphone with a brand new one again. He also informed me that the new iphone will not come in a box. I was unhappy but very frustrated at this stage, and when collected, they assured me that it is a brand new iphone. After a day, I already started to experience problems. I left it for a few more days, as i was out of town on business.
i returned back to the office on 28th November 2024, and contacted the store to schedule an appointment with the same gentleman, Ruan who informed me that he will be in the store on Monday 2nd December, and will be able to meet then. On Monday 2nd December 2024, i called the store to confirm my appointment with Ruan, as i live out of town. I was told that Ruan's grandfather passed away and would not be available for a few days.
I have a problem with every brand new iphone purchased from that store, came either in a previously opened box or no box at all. Although i was not happy, Ruan convinced me that the iphone is brand new.
I have been to various Vodacom stores since, and enquired, should i purchase a brand new iphone from them, what does the packaging look like. Their responses from every one of them, is that the iphones are sealed in a box and the client needs to open it.
Please advise me on a way forward
