Unfair treatment of the consumer

Dear Vodacom

Could you kindly get a SENIOR manager to contact me within 24 hours - failing which i will be taking this matter to the Ombudsman on the grounds of not treating the customer fairly.

I have a brand new Samsung S8+ which I am paying for which is not usable due to a faulty sim card reader and Vodacom is telling me:

1. I damaged the phone!!!!

2. I blacklisted the phone!!!

I have been busy with this matter for 3 weeks and Vodacom is simply not assisting me. I have been shunted from pillar to post and am officially now at the end of my feather.

You are welcome to pull the footage @ Vodacom Menlyn where they almost dropped the phone when I went to upgrade my contract. Also, I was not completely satisfied with certain documents and Monique simply said that if we do not sign, we do not get the phone. I have also not blacklisted the phone. What would my intention be - I do not even have insurance on the phone.

This is all not in line with treating the customer fairly, as all your conditions are pretty much one sided!

I am paying for a NEW device and would only expect a NEW device, not one that is faulty.

The lady that helped my daughter upgrade her phone at another phone company actually mentioned that the device should be opened in store due to any faults on the device - why was this not done with me?

I have been a Vodacom client in excess of 10 years and cannot believe that this is the service levels that are being rendered.

Bitterly disappointed!

Hi UW - I have responded to your email. I expect top priority and an urgent response. Reasonable period has already been given for resolving and thus, we cannot, as a consumer wait on Vodacom longer than the close of business 23 May 2017 for a response.

UW. i have received a call this morning from Lindiwe confirming that the blacklisting took place by Vodacom Cresta due to a ****** batch of S8+. and I am still being refused a new phone??????? Shocking. seems like Vodacom is happy with me going to the Ombudsman. PLEASE NOTE:

I HAVE NOT HAD USE OF THE PHONE AND THE UPGRADE WAS DONE ON THE 6TH MAY 2017

Hi UW. What unprofessional and shocking service. No phone call from you. I will not accept the DAMAGED AND BLACKLISTED BACK. Recourse will now be seeked via legal channels due to the non-accountability taken by Vodacom.
