Unfair treatment by Vodacom Mall@Carnival

I bought two contract phones from Vodacom month end of June 2021and second week of July 2021 the one phone gave me a problem it stopped functioning. I took it to where I bought it Vodacom Mall@Carnival. The technician there said he'll have a look at it and if the problem is bigger he'll book it for repairs, he said I must leave it behind. Two weeks down the line he calls and tells me he has not booked the phone in yet because he lost my contacts I was furious telling him I thought he was calling to tell me the phone is back. On the 23rd Augu 2021 I went to the store to check if the phone was back only to find out the phone was back but it was not mine I was told the phones were mistakenly swapped, surprisingly they never called or sent any notification that the phone was back in store. Though my phone was not received the paper work was attached to the wrong phone and I was told the report from repairs stated I took the phone somewhere else for repairs and sealed it with a glue before I brought it to them that I must pay R3000 for it to be fixed. My question to them was why would I take a brand new phone less than a few days a phone I bought on contract somewhere else to be fixed they told me their phones come sealed from the manufacturer and I said probably there was a mishap from their side and I'm left to pickup the pieces. Vodacom has treated me unfairly l believe something is fishy for my phone was booked after two weeks from the time I left it in store, the guy booked it using his name saying he reason for using his name he said he wanted the process to speed up and I was never given a job number until I called their call center for help after I received this disturbing report. I left the phone in store because I want answers someone knows the truth in that store and I'm left to deal with the problem. Hellopeter I'm requesting your help with this matter.
