Unfair treatment
I entered into a WiFi contract with Vodacom last year, and the agent advised that it was a month‑to‑month agreement, without properly explaining the terms and conditions. Due to a miscommunication between myself, my bank, and Vodacom, I missed one installment. Despite this, my services continued uninterrupted until 28 January 2026, when my connectivity was suddenly suspended without any prior notice or communication. When I contacted Vodacom to find out what had happened, I was informed for the first time that my profile had been deleted and my contract cancelled—something that was done without my consent or knowledge. Shortly afterwards, I received an invoice showing a cancellation amount of over R12 000. I immediately queried this and provided a detailed explanation of the events, as I had been under the impression that everything was in order. I was then advised to settle the outstanding arrears to have my profile reinstated, which I did. However, despite following these instructions, I still do not have connectivity. I have engaged with several relevant departments, and at one point, I was even told to submit a brand‑new application—something that was later rejected. I questioned why a new application was required when I am an existing client who never requested or agreed to cancel the contract. This situation has caused significant disruption, as I work from home, my wife is studying and running a business, and our children also rely on the internet daily for schoolwork. As an existing customer, I am extremely disappointed and feel that I have been treated unfairly by Vodacom.
