Unfair T&C's and conflicting information
3 weeks ago I took my phone to Vodacom Eastgate for repairs, I had dropped the phone and cracked the back cover and hadn't had a chance to send it in, about a month later the screen of the phone began to malfunction, so I made a plan to take it in.
When I handed in my phone I was told that the back cover would need to be repaired at my expense, and then the screen would be dealt with. Fair enough.
When I got the estimate, it was in excess of R3000 and I was shocked, so i queried what was going on and they informed me that is the price of the repair and that's that, so I asked to see a break down of the repairs, behold the screen was on the break down, so I asked that they establish a link between the screen problem and the back cover & then I'd pay for both, I got told it needed to be sent to the advanced repair centre for that to happen.
A few days ago I got notified of the new quote, still over R3000, I queried it and got told the screen was not included, however once I saw the breakdown it was. I then got told that my warranty is voided due to physical damage and everything is at my cost regardless of the relevance of the damage. This is an unfair term and contrary to the CPA
