UNFAIR DEACTIVATION
I have been a loyal Vodacom contract client for about 20 yrs. My debit orders were returned a few times due to financial constraints but the amounts shown on My Vodacom as the arrears were paid later in the month by EFT. On 4 April both phones were deactivated. I received a letter to say that I owed R12434.60 (full contract amount).<br> I called Vodacom and was told to pay R71.57 (the arrear amount), get new sim cards (R105 ea) and fill in the reactivate forms and that I would be charged for the reactivation on my account. This I did at Norwood Branch and they emailed to the relevant office (ref no. received). I waited for the reactivation SMS but to no avail. I again called Vodacom and was told that they did not have all relevant docs. I returned to Norwood and they verified the docs were sent. I received a letter to say that I must pay R10623.60 this being the full amount of the outstanding contract. I am confused and disgusted as I was told that my phones would be reactivated. I have spent more money on sim cards and and still don't have my phones.
