Unfair data abuse

I buy data which expires at a certain date. Say 1 December 2018. On the other hand, I win data from Vodacom Summer Gigs which expires at a later date like 4 December 2018. So when I use data, the data I have left from what I bought, stays there but the free data is dissappearing? This means they are using the data which expires at a later date than my bought data first? And then my data I paid for is gone? That is unfair and there is nothing I can do about it? What happened to data not expiring? I didn't ask for the extra data? But Vodacom is wasting my money?

Dear Customer,

Thank you for registering your complaint with our office. Our attempts to contact you have been unsuccessful.

Vodacom data bundles follow a LIFO (Last In First Out) order of consumption. The last bundle to be purchased, activated or allocated will be the first bundle to be consumed and then any other available bundles in chronological order.

Also, please be advised that free data will always be consumed first, as it takes preference over any other active bundle.

Regards
Consumer Website Team
