Unfair business treatment
Hello my name is Percy I bought a contract at vodacom a couple of years ago a cellphone, laptop and a tablet later on my wife join me with her number all in all I was paying around R620 a month then the contract ended so I called them or they called me I can't remember but I told them that I am nolonger upgrading but I want to keep my numbers all I want from them is just the airtime and the data they said it's fine as time goes on last year later in September a lady called me from vodacom of Durban and told me that she saw that I am paying too much of airtime and data, she said she can help me pay less a half of what I am paying and I said that will be great So she talk a lot of staff at the end she menssion a new contract so I told her that I can't take a new contract because there is a chance I might lose my job she said it's okay when that happens just call vodacom and they will cancel it I asked her so many times she assured me that they will cancel it as soon as I explained it to them, there was some voucher that I have received from them but it was not a handset or a laptop nor the tablet it was just a small box of a voucher that I didn't even open until today In October the same year I lost my job then I started calling vodacom and I explained to them and they said they will attend to my complaint and come back to me after listening to the conversation . After a few days i received a couple of sms from vodacom saying my complaint has been resolve that was last year and my contract has been terminated unfortunately I can't give you the ref number because I lost my phone. They didn't say anything about money that I owe them or penalty then at the end of November they deducted almost R2000 out of my account they didnt give us airtime and data they just deducted the money. I told my wife to reverse it because we didn't get any airtime and data plus it was too much just for one month. After that all went quite until January 2018 I was on my way to the department of Labour for my uif I gave three students a lift after dropping them off I think I drove a kilometer or two away from where I dropped them off I realized that my phone was gone when I went back it was too late. So I went to buy a new simcard so that I can do the Sim swap at first when I call them they told me that I must wait for 24hrs for it to be active and if it doesn't I must call them again and indeed it didn't work I call them again and this time they told me it looks like my number is a contract so i must go and buy a simcard from one of the vodacom outlet, so I did that but this time when I call them this lady she told me that it didn't show that is a contract and she did the Sim swap but there was again a bit of a problem she said it looks like there is some arrears that I owe but the more she work on it she said she will connect me with their financial department and I spoke to them and they saw nothing so finally I got my number and life goes on. All of a sudden I started to get calls more than four in a week all of them calling me with one thing but every time I had to explain one thing over and over because they were calling about the arrears but when I ask them what is it for they couldn't give me the answer and when I tell them I never received any handset they say we will come back to you and when I tell them it was never an upgrade they were also surprised It came to a point where two of their consultants were saying two different amount of arrears I was supposed to be owing them. The other called and said I owe them R1200 and the next day the other one said I owe R1995 when I asked them to break it down to me as what is the money for they alway just hang up. I also asked them if they are working for the same company because now they are talking different amount. I still remember the reference numbers that they gave me for my complains from the vodacom number +27 82 ********** Ref number 1- ********** ********** received on the 09/02/2018 (12:00) The same ref number was sent to me again on the 12/02/2018 (12:00) The second ref 1- ********** ********** received on 14/03/2018(10:10) the same number was sent on the 18/03/2018 I also received the message from this number +27 ********** ********** it reads Don't lose contact with your friends and family pay your vodacom arrears via arrangement and stay connected. Call us on (011) ********** acc: ********** 26 at 10:55 on the 22/03/2018 another one at 10:51 on 11/04/2018 from +27 ********** ********** I also received another phone call from vodacom the lady just started asking me when can they deduct the money from my account then I asked her why would she do that she said to pay my arrears then when I ask her, arrears for what she just said she will come back to me then gone I even told them that if anything happen to my name via the ID number that they keep on requesting I am going to hold them accountable I asked them that why would I want to ruin the relationship that I had with them for such a long time and with so many contracts but it seems like I was talking to a brick wall. I also told them that their system is very bad because it can't keep the records because today I received a call from this one then tomorrow I received another call for the very same thing but from a different person again on the third day I received another call all of them they are calling for the same thing. Unfortunately I don't have any documentation but I can get a statement from the bank so that you can see the deductions
