Unfair Billing and Loss of Paid Data After Contract Cancellation

I am extremely disappointed with the way my contract cancellation was handled by Vodacom.

My contract had already expired and was running on a month-to-month basis. When I requested cancellation, the process was unnecessarily difficult because the agent continuously tried to persuade me not to cancel instead of assisting me with the cancellation request.

Furthermore, Vodacom debited my account on 20 July 2026 for the August billing period. However, my number was migrated to prepaid on 29 August 2026, resulting in me losing the 8.17GB of data that I had already paid for. I was under the impression that the remaining data would transfer or remain available until the end of the period, but this did not happen.

What is even more frustrating is that I was charged for August, including charges relating to a contract that had already been cancelled. If the contract was terminated and my number converted to prepaid, what exactly was I paying for?

I request the following:

A full explanation of the August charges. A refund of any amounts incorrectly debited after the cancellation. Reimbur*****t or restoration of the 8.17GB data that I paid for but was unable to use. A formal response regarding the poor cancellation experience and the unnecessary delays caused during the process.
