Unfair Bill and Crazy Tariffs from Vodacom

Hi there, I am feeling powerless and I would like to request assistance in a matter that has been unfair towards me and my family and I do not have the means of fighting this injustice on my own. Firstly, I don’t like to complain, but this is such an unfair matter and I beg you to listen to my story summarized as short as possible still conveying the whole story... Events timeline: November Vodacom calls me, an agent telephonically advises me that I would save money and she wants to restructure my contract in order to do so I repeatedly ask (as would be evident from recording that was mandatory for agreement) whether the consultant was sure I would be saving, whereby I was repeatedly reassured. The contract is implemented THERE WAS NO LONGER A BLOCK ON MY ACCOUNT AS WITH TOP UP WHICH I WAS UNAWARE OF December It has been a rough year and I was only able to pay the current months bill towards the end of the month, the debit order amount was double my normal bill so I assumed they had not yet credited my payment. This was however NOT TRUE and my account had accumulated about R8,500 on the contract that was changed and supposed to be saving me money January 16 January I get contacted by a consultant whom notifies me that my bill is standing at R30,000 for this contract and to my absolute horror The exact same day I am worrying sitting at work and send my wife to Vodacom in Worcester Mountain Mill Mall. She is helped by a consultant named Marvin, after explaining the situation he notifies us that this particular case qualifies for “account shock”, whereby they basically take out of ordinary accounts and adjust due to respectable circumstances. He shows her on his computer the complaint has been logged and assures her everything would be sorted multiple times, he also promises to contact us within 3 x days. 29 January we have still heard nothing after calling a week earlier, my wife takes another day off to go to Vodacom, now she gets copied in an e-mail sent with the query, 2 x weeks later. She said we would consider taking our business elsewhere and stressed that we would never be able to pay this, whereby he again reassures her multiple times that his will be sorted and we have nothing to worry about. February I have my child at home who is particularly ill and I am very stressed about his situation, I am 4 hours from home and my wife also needs to call a doctor should need arise as he is struggling with his breathing. After all the reassurance our lines have been blocked!!! I phone in and speak to a consultant whom says that there is no record that Vodacom in Mountain Mill has resolved the issue, luckily they finally report the matter as I was contacted a few days afterwards. THE RESULT Vodacom Verdict: Marvin apparently made it very clear that there would be no limitation on the contract They say the fact that it was used after we became aware of this fault made us liable My verdict: No one from Vodacom takes responsibility They are looking for any reason to pin this on me and leave me with the bill Marvin whom is telling a desperate lie to cover the fact that he did not perform his job: Never resolved my issue as promised My complaint was never logged according to records I DID have something to worry about contradicting his statement Everything had not been sorted Why is this guy suddenly to be believed after lying to his customer 4 x times? I was promised savings and transferred under false pretences Usually my contract switches over to my wi-fi which I also pay for. (uncapped monthly) These rates are so absurd for out of bundle data in comparison I can get a 4mb uncapped line for R800 per month like which my entire workplace uses at the offices My usual expense regarding this account averaged R900 per month over a year period. Average usage comparison: PREVIOUS CONTRACT R2 700 over 3 x months NEW CONTRACT R42 000+ over 3 x months Which person in their right mind would want to change knowing this? I am not disputing data usage but the incorrect structuring of my contract after them calling me as client and offering me this deal after considering my usage. I would however never incurred these costs had the data run out and blocked and my i-pad could switch to wi-fi like previously, no one can deny this. I had been promised it had been sorted and thereafter I incurred more costs as this was never done. MY CIRCUMSTANCES I can’t afford to pay this, it would ruin me, I have already had to give my house as security as my tanker was destroyed in a tornado about a year ago in Delmas and have been handed to 5 x attorneys for debt as it is strangling me, I don’t have the strength to fight this injustice also, please help me

Out of bundle data is R890 per 1Gig. How can they do this to people?
