Unexplained Iphone order cancelation

Two and a half weeks ago on the 2nd or 3rd of March I completed an upgrade order on the phone on one of my vodacom numbers for the Iphone air which was on sale for R 499. The order went through successfully and I even recived an sms from skynet two days later saying my order has been submitted and my phone will be with me soon and I hoped it would because it was my birthday on the 6th of March and it would have been a nice gift to myself .

That friday comes and I dont get my phone , I call and I am told that the phone was out of stock but they have stock now and they will dispatch my phone . I wait for another week , the following friday (last Friday ) still no phone or communication, I call aftersales again and I am told the same story, that the phone was out of stock but we have stock now and we'll have it dispatched.

I then decide to call to check if they can give me a waybill number on monday (16 March 2026) and im told that my order has been canceled on their system .

The lady i spoke to was also puzzled because she said that on their system they have a notes section where they have to write reasons for why orders are canceled yet on mine theres no reason whatsoever, its just a canceled order after 14 days of waiting when I bought the phone whilst the special was still ongoing (2 march 2026) and its just canceled with no explanation and no communication in the process.

It ls disappointing because if been with vodacom since 2013 , I've never really had problems with them. I currently have about 3 contracts with them on which I pay R 1800 pm in total . Theres just something painful when a company you've supported so much does things like this. So now im being told that I cant get the deal anymore (because ofcourse its been discontinued) , i was told that I can get an iphone air for R699 instead of the R499 I would have paid although it is for one with bigger storage but im on the fence about it . To be honest im strongly considering just moving to a different phone carrier .
