Unexpected restriction on redemption of BA flight voucher
In Dec 2018, my husband and I signed up 2 identical deals with Vodacom World, which included R5000 BA Voucher for each deal. Before signing the contract, we asked the consultant if we could use both vouchers in 1 trip for 2 of us and if it was necessary to sign the contract separately under my name and my husband's name. The consultant confirmed that 1) it was not necessary to sign the contract separately; and 2) we could use both vouchers because it's for two of us. We just can't use both vouchers for one person in a trip. Based on that, my husband signed up these 2 deals alone (after visiting the store 2 times and waiting for more than 8 hours in the queue). Recently we contacted the designated travel agent to make the booking, the agent initially said the same thing as the Vodacom consultant, but later on refused to redeem both 2 vouchers for the trip. He said one voucher per booking. When we asked if we could make 2 bookings for each of us separately, he said NO, because both vouchers were under my husband's name. We visited Vodacom World on 27 April, trying to speak to the consultant we dealt with, but he left the job. We spoke to a guy from Marketing, he said he would sort out for us, but still no feedback. The voucher is expiring on 30 April 2019. We feel like this BA voucher thing is totally a marketing ***** ---- false information, careless travel agent, unhelpful Customer Care. Vodacom used it to trap us into 2x 24months deal, but benefits were not actually delivered. Really very disappointed and unpleasant experience.
