********* practices employed by Vodacom

Approximately 1 year ago I was blacklisted by Vodacom for an account that that was in arrear. Such account was suspended by Vodacom. Nevertheless I had to pay for a contract( fibre) that was not received but was billed for. After settling the account by mutual agreement between Vodacom attorneys and myself I encountered another obstacle. Since I did not want to have any dealings with Vodacom I tried to take a contract with another service provider ( Vox) for a fibre line. An agent from Vox indicated that the line belonged to Vodacom and that the fibre line could only be transferred to Vox once Vodacom release the fibre line to Vox. I contacted an agent from the Vodacom fibre cancellation dept and submitted all relevant documents to indicate to him to release the line. The agent tried to convince me to enter a contract with Vodacom. He indicated that they were even prepared to match the deal Vox was prepared to give to me. I explained to the agent that as I had too many problems with Vodacom which included not only blacklisting me but taking my 3 Vodacom cell nos which were converted to prepaid was no been transferred to unknown Vodacom subscribers without my consent. The agent then responded that should the fibre line be cancelled it could take as much as three months before the line be cancelled and transferred to another service provider. I construe this as unfair and of the view that Vodacom is using ********* practices to prevent line being transferred. I have proof from Vodacom attorneys that the account has been settled.
